Solo break and now Lanterne Rouge
Leonardo Scarselli, Italian rider on Team ISD, is Giro Lanterne Rouge after a brave 116-km solo escape in Stage 2 (Jesolo - Trieste). Matthias Russ, German rider on Team Milram, did not finish the stage after crashing in the final circuits in Trieste.
