Congratulations Leonardo!
The cyclist who was the Lanterne Rouge for the first three stages of the 2005 Tour de France, Leonardo Piepoli of the Saunier Duval team, won the 13th stage of the Giro d'Italia from Alessandria to La Thuile on Saturday.According to Velonews, he "has won just about every major mountain climb in Spain, including a stage victory in the 2004 Vuelta a España, but the veteran Italian climbing specialist had never won in the Giro d'Italia."
What a fabulous victory for an Italian cyclist, on what was from all accounts a very tough day! Well done, Leonardo!
